Trick Or Treat!

Halloween Pictures, Images and Photos
Trick or Treat
Smell my Feet
Give me something good to eat
If you don't, I don't care
I'll pull down your underwear!!!

hehehehe Tonight is the big night for Trick ER treating!! :) I can wait, but the kids can't! I will be looking forward to them getting too tired, so I can reTREAT back to my house for some hot tea and their candy *Snort*

You will just have to wait for tonight (late) or tomorrow for pictures from trick or treating! Cuz I know this blog is ALL You think about! *cheesy grin*

Hopefully, I can wrestle Syd's costume on. Why in the world can she play "dressup" all day but can't with a costume?? This is the first year that Noah is EXCITED to wear a costume! Hubby and I are NOT dressing up. Have a good night with the kiddos!!

My little man

Okay you all know this commercial right?

Well, we put our son to bed a few nights ago around 8:00 to watch Star Wars before bed and we sat down on the couch to watch our shows.

We heard his footsteps coming down the stairs. He whispers, "Mooommmmy...." I come around the corner and say, "Noah you need to get back in bed."

NOAH: "Mooommmmy...why do people hurt animals?" I go up the stairs to get closer.....he had a stream of tears flowing over his cheeks.

Me: "Honey, I don't know why. I guess some people just don't love animals like you and me."

NOAH: "I want to save all the animals like on tv."

Me: "I know you do and we can try. If we see a hurting animal we will help it, okay?"

NOAH: "It makes me sad. That lady sang and it made me cry about animals being hurt."

Me: "That commercial makes me cry too honey. I love you Noah. Now back to bed." I walked him back to bed and turned off the tv.

I laid there with him and cuddled for a couple minutes just holding him. He is such a sweety and I want him to stay like that forever!! I will never forget his face, the look in his eyes, and the genuine concern he had for those abused animals.

Damn you Sarah Mclaughlin....you get me everytime I watch that commercial! But you don't have my money YET!! tahehehehehhe

Pumpkin Carving Time!

Since Noah's Pumpkin Patch fun at school on Monday (20th), he has been bugging us to carve his pumpkin with him. So FINALLY we sat down tonight and did it. Because carving is so freaking dangerous, hence the big cut on my finger from the pumpkin carving kit.......we cut them and the kids got to clean them out and push the eyes through...etc...etc.... Of course Sydney kept telling us how "ucky" it was the entire time and wanted NOTHING to do with touching it until it was completely done and wiped off. She managed to get it in her hair, but I think that was her sneaky big brother! Here are some pictures from our fun tonight!

Mini Cheddar Meat loaves

Mini Cheddar Meat loaves

This was a recipe given to me by my friend Julie. She swore by them so I tried them and we have been in love since. My hubby won't let me make any other recipe of meat loaves! Everyone gets their own loaf!!

Meat loaves
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 1/4 pound sirloin ground beef (85% lean)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup onion chopped
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1 teaspoon salt

Glaze
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup ketchup
1 1/2 teaspoon mustard

In a bowl beat the egg and milk. Stir in cheese, oats, onion, and salt. Add beef and mix well.

Shape into 7 or 8 hand-size loaves. Place loaves evenly separated in a greased 9x13 baking dish.

Glaze: Combine sugar, ketchup, and mustard in a small dish. Spoon over loaves.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until meat is no longer pink and is 160 degrees on a thermometer.

Starting to feel old....

I am hitting 31 in the very near future. The idea of being "over the hill" doesn't scare me. Aging doesn't scare me....but the things that come with age scare me.

For one.....my ankles and knees hurt and it is hard to get my muscles moving in the morning.

Second, I actually WANT a sewing machine for Christmas. No...not for quilting or hemming, but to make things like this: Hobo Bag I can NEVER find a cute bag that I like, but I could totally MAKE my own bag I like!!

Third, I am ready for bed by 9:00, but after 9 is the only quiet time I can get hence why I am too damn tired to get out of bed at 6:15 am!!

Heading to bed....I will have to catch my Lipstick Jungle tomorrow at nap time.....I am too tired!!

Hershey Bar Cake

This is a recipe that my husband's Grandmother gave us, but I have also found it on the Internet in several places. The recipe is made several different ways, but she definetly gave us the BEST one!! This is the most DIVINE dessert you could ever make. It is also pretty easy.

I will add the pictures later.....This is a MUST try!

Hershey Bar Cake
This is a 3 layer cake (but very easy!)

1 box Devil's Food Cake mix
1 1/2 cups milk (2%)
3 eggs
3/4 cup oil
1 small package instant Vanilla pudding

Mix all ingredients together and pour into 3- 9 inch cake pans that are greased and floured. Parchment paper/wax paper cut to fit the bottom helps when flipping the cake out) Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 mins. I found on a similar recipe to freeze the layers of the cake in wax paper because it will moisten the cake?? Didn't do that, but might try that next time!

FROSTING:

12 oz cool whip
8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups confectionary sugar
3 Hershey Bars (frozen and ground fine) or A giant Hershey bar: Pampered Chef chopper works GREAT!

Cream both kinds of sugar with cream cheese until smooth, add cool whip and Hershey Bars. Mix well and frost the cake.

Menu Plan for October 19-25, 2008

I started doing a weekly menu plan about 2 years ago after my daughter was born. We had a friend living with us and with our busy schedules, it seemed like the right thing to do. Now it seems to be quite the thing to do!! A couple of the bottom recipes I got from What's for Dinner?

Sunday: Chicken Manicotti & peaches

Monday: Honey Dijion Salmon, Rice, and Peas (Hubby's birthday dinner) I also made him a Hershey Bar Cake (I will add that one later)

Tuesday: BBQ Chicken, cut-up grilled potatoes (potatoes cut up into small pieces, wrapped in foil with butter and seasonings), & corn

Wednesday: Spaghetti & Garlic Toast

Thursday: Out because Hubby has parent-teacher conferences all night!

Friday: Italian Grilled Chicken, cut-up grilled potatoes, & corn

Saturday: Out

Chicken Manicotti

Chicken Manicotti

This is the easiest recipe ever! It was quick, very little mess involved, and kids love it!

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 lbs chicken breast tenders (uncooked)
14 uncooked manicotti
(30 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread 1/3 cup of the spaghetti sauce in ungreased 12x9 baking dish. Sprinkle garlic powder on chicken. Insert chicken into uncooked manicotti shells. Place shells on spaghetti sauce in dish. Pour remaining spaghetti sauce evenly over shells, covering completely. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover with aluminum foil and bake about 1 hour, or until shells are tender
.

Honey Dijon Salmon

Honey Dijon Salmon

Ingredients
1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
2-1/4 teaspoons melted butter
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 Tablespoons honey
1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
Dash white pepper
2 salmon fillets (4 oz each)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (I keep out)
1/2 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed (I keep out)

Servings: 2

Directions:
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch, butter, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Stir in honey, mustard, and pepper.

Place each salmon fillet on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil. Drizzle with honey mixture and sprinkle with walnuts (if you use them). Place asparagus around salmon (If you use them). Fold foil around salmon and seal tightly. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 15-20 mins or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

Because I am a dork like that.

I added a new blog onto this one because I am that much of a dork. However, there is a reasonable explanation.

I spend most of my week thinking about my grocery list. I keep an ongoing list on the fridge so when something runs out or if I think about what I need, I write it down. And I am CONSTANTLY looking for new recipes (for REAL people) and ideas for organization. So, I made a seperate blog for my dorky needsand to help me, mainly, to keep track of cool places I find. But be sure to stop by When did I become my Mother?

That one is for you Mom :)

As much as I hate cold weather....

I still had a blue jay in the frosty grass, cup of hot tea with a snickerdoodle, sit by the fire kind of a morning.

Let's hope the rest of the day goes so beautifully.......

Speaking of babies....

Now that I got your attention again lol. I am here to introduce you to my daughter and ALL her babies!!

My daughter loves playing with her babies. She watches me with the little girl I babsit. She even mimicked me the other day on how I hold the baby's legs up when I change her diaper. She pulled out the changing pad, put her baby down, and put both of her baby's ankles in her one hand and wiped the bum with the other. She looked like a Little Mommy sitting there. Sydney amazes me everyday with the things she does. I sometimes have to force myself from watching her to get things done.

For the last couple years since she was born she has slowly collected babies. I am in the process of creating a really cute scrapbook page... but until then, check out Sydney with all her babies!

Think she needs more?? Believe me she plays with ALL of them! And I am SURE Santa will bring at least one more for Christmas! lol

My 2 babies....

I am so glad I got your attention on the last blog.

That was too funny that you all were hoping I was pregnant.

I did wish it for quite some time, but my hubby just wouldn't be able to handle it right now. We have enough to catch up on in life. A LOT of sacrifices had to be made for me to stay home. I am so jealous of all the moms who just get to stay home with their kids and enjoy them without worrying about money.

So you rich SAHM's you have NO idea how easy your lives are!!!

So anyway....back to me being pregnant. Yeah only the grace of God can make that happen cuz we aren't trying. A tiny part of me still wants it, but a HUGE part of me desires to go back to work and make more money. ...but THAT is a whole other blog! I have been working on that one in my head now for quite some time.

Back to my 2 babies.....

This morning I went to get my daugther up at 9:15 (I know right?? RUB RUB RUB...she didn't go to bed till 10:30) and when I went in....she didn't even move an eyelash! I said, "Syd...ney." Nothing. She looked so peaceful, so of course I had to run downstairs and grab my camera for 2 reasons.

1) She looked so cute! and....

2) She was sleeping with my Cabbage patch kid from the 80's! She runs around with my Cabbage Patch Kid and Hubby's from when he was a kid (I know right?? NO...he didn't play with it!...you should see the difference between his and mine lol)

I let her sleep for another 30 mins and got her butt up! She is quite the sleeper! :)

So....those are my 2 babies :)

I got a baby in my belly...

So, my son draws some of the cutest pictures in the world.

I have to say they arent too bad considering the kid JUST started to enjoy coloring and being creative.
He was the kid at the restuarants who ate the crayons and threw them at the waitress. He was NOT the kid that you could sit at a wedding and hand him a coloring book and crayons to keep quiet.
But with him starting Kindergarten, he has become such the creative one...something sparked him....

At school, he works on this work and when he is done he is to flip over the paper and draw a picture on the back. (Great strategy).

He brought this one home yesterday.

My first thought was, "Ah....Noah wants me to have another baby."
My second thought was, "Does he know something I don't?"

So, after I showed Hubby, I had Hubby ask him about his picture. This is how the conversation went:

Hubby, "Noah, so tell me about your picture? I love it!"
Noah, "It's Mommy."
Hubby, "What about this?" as he points to the baby in my belly. "Do you want Mommy to have another baby?"
Noah, "NO!!! That is Sydney! I want her BACK in Mommy's belly."

Hubby and I looked at eachother and chuckled.....That was the cutest thing EVER!! Nothing like getting rid of your little sister huh?? Just put her BACK!!

OMG!! So no babies here!

Autumn Scavenger Hunt

Today our Mom's group went to the park and had an Autumn Scavenger Hunt. (Mary, I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!)

Most of the kids were nonreaders, so I created a sheet of things to look for with pictures and with words. We had such a good time. The kids were still talking about it tonight!

I also had a good time...a much needed playdate with ADULTS!!

This group is EXACTLY what I needed!!

All the kids minus my son (Who was pouting over a small cut he got on his finger!)

Old McDonald Pumpkin Patch 2008

Last weekend, my best friend, Kim came down from Pittsburgh with her little one. We had a great weekend catching up, having our kids get to know eachother, scrapbooking, and at Old McDonald Pumpkin Patch. They had the same stuff as last year with a few different things. They had a corn castle for the kids to climb in and play in the corn. They had a hay tunnel pile for the kids to crawl through and over. They also had some new cute photo props. We had a great time...even with Syd's breakdowns!

Here are some photos of the kids at the pumpkin patch!

I am sick of piss!

I am SICK of cleaning up piss!!

The dog pisses on my bathroom floor.
My daughter still has occasional accidents....
My son pissing the bed....
My hubby pissing on the floor beside the toilet.

I am sick of piss!!!

Am I the only one who doesn't piss in this house???

All that for....

A SWEET TEA!!!

I have been without a sweet tea for T MINUS 3 days!! So....as a reward for not needing my daily tea....I went to get one at my MOST favorite place to get it....MCDONALDS off of Exit 16. The best Sweet tea ever!!

I go through the drive thru......get my tea....and start down the road......I take a sip.....and BLAH!! It was like drinking ICE WATER!! I have had enough of that!!

So, I whip around.....go back through the drive thru....get another one....pull up a little.....take a sip.....UNSWEETENED AGAIN!!!

So, instead of going back through the drive thru.....I parked by the door and walked my ass right in there and explained my NEED for a sweet tea and what I got twice was unsweetened that tasted more like water than tea. They apologized and gave me a different one from the lobby's tea maker. THANK GOD!!! It was sweet!!!

And I drink some of it and when we got home....I see that I went through ALL THAT FOR.....

Sydney to drink it all!! God bless her for saving my diet!....lol

You might see less of me....

I am going to be spending more of my "free" time (if that is what you call it) doing something active (physically active) cuz I have put on oh.....about.....15 lbs since August. You ask how??? I have NO freaking clue. Yes, I eat, but not enough to put THAT much back onto this body. So, off I go to ex.....exer......*cough* EXERCISE!!! It used to be SO much fun to "exercise" then I had to do it to just stay healthy. I used to do it only because I "wanted" to and because it didn't feel like exercise. So you will see less of me, virtually and weight wise (I do hope).

I vow, today, is my day!

Not tomorrow, not next week, not in a few days after I binge eat....TODAY!!!

I have already had a cup of Fiber One raisin bran and 1% milk.

I vow: I am NOT going to finish the girls food today at lunch just because I feel guilty that it is being wasted.

I vow: I am going to pay attention to what I eat and how much I eat

I vow: I am going to MAKE the time for me to exercise.

I vow: I am NOT going to make excuses anymore.

TODAY IS MY DAY!!!!

I guess a weekly weigh in would be good for me. SO you people are my way of making me responsible for this. If I tell you, then I HAVE to follow through right???

RIGHT!!

Well, I have spent enough time vegetating. I am off to dance to Hi5 with the girls! Build a sweat.... 1 2 3.......NO PAIN NO GAIN!

Mommy's Hour Out....

Ya know, when 2 mommies get together to make a "quick" run to Walmart for some food and computer ink, you would think it would be an easy trip there and back without kids right?? Well, not quite.

We definetly had a great time going to Walmart since we NEVER get out of the house, but we didn't think the fun would involve spilt sweet tea, ripping off of $4, and a wild Grandma in a bright red Grand Am.

Here's how it went down.

Amy and I decided to run out quickly to pick up a couple things from Wally World. She left her daughter with her hubby and I left mine with my mother in law. We figured an hour would be plenty of time and it would have if the chaos hadn't happened.

First we skipped (literally) into Wally World since we were WITHOUT children and we got to go to Walmart with a friend!

We bought the things we needed, headed to the cash register, paid, and packed up in her little blue Trackor. We made a pit stop at McDonalds since we were craving sweet teas. We got our sweet teas and were enjoying them, when Amy noticed that the Walmart chic ripped her off $4 and some change on her juice. She did a "short" cut and charged her for 5 times the most expensive juice when some of the others were cheaper (much cheaper). So, we headed BACK to Walmart. I waited and guarded the groceries while she got her money back. Upon her arrival back to the Trackor, we sucked down some more sweet tea and discussed how DELICIOUS it was today.

We made our way to the second red light home when we were sitting there talking and.........

SHABAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We got rear ended by a WILD Grandma in a Red GrandAm!! She jumped out of her car and asked if we were okay. And....all I could say was:
Um...yeah but she's pregnant.
Then we all went to check out the damage. NOTHING to that little trackor and she only had a few scratches. She went to check her backseat where her infant grandchild was in the backseat sleeping!!!
So, after we all left the scene of the crime, Amy and I started to make light of the situation. We laughed because after we saw everyone was fine, we checked to make sure our sweet tea didn't spill!!! Because if that had happened we would have SUED WILD GRANDMA FOR $2.12 and emotional damage caused by the loss of the best sweet tea!! LMAO!
Do not mess with 2 Mommies on their hour out for food and sweet tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude that stinks!

As most of you know or are learning to know, I am NOT little Miss Susie Homemaker. I prefer to work out of the home and pay people to clean for me (and change my sheets to fresh ones daily), however staying home is a choice my hubby and I made because it was what was best for Noah and Sydney. (It also didn't pay me to put 2 kids in child care and pay a maid, but that is besides the point). So, I have been FORCED to clean, cook, and become my worst nightmare..... a homemaker...and a pretty damn good one at that.

I manage to keep my house "red" or "read" up as we say in Pennsyltucky. This means "stuff" gets put away. I hate clutter being out, blankets strung across this way and that on the couches, pillows not placed where they belong, toys picked up and put where they belong, etc...etc. My hubby is notorious for putting things where they don't belong...like...oh there that spot in the pantry or kitchen island looks like a great spot for a dirty sock.... you catch my drift.....

So, keeping up with him, my two kids, myself, plus the 2 kids I babysit is an endless job. However, I manage to keep my home in a mediocre shape. I like my garbage emptied, sink clear of ALL dishes, things picked up and put away, floors vacuumed (daily) and mopped (weekly), blah blah blah.....

However, my bath and kitchen towels FREAKING REEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what it is...was it me not switching them quick enough from the hamper to the washer, Hubby's stinky body oils (not mine of course..I smell like roses ALL the time), or just the fact that they have been used off and on now for years..... (there Mom...Christmas idea: I need CLEAN CRISP BIG WHITE towels lol) or am I that sucky at laundry???

I did my research as always....I am a researcher...I spoke to my mother first, because like me, she learned to be Miss Susie Homemaker and believe me....if my mom could, she would hire a maid to come in daily and clean for her and change her sheets to fresh ones daily as well! lol.

She mentioned how she hangs hers outside on the clothesline... the sun and being outside tends to "kill" the stench. NEGATIVE: I can't do that. I like in a subdivision and clotheslines would hurt the property value. Sorry rednecks....we almighty ones here don't allow such ugly things (Sorry...that was supposed to be sarcastic...cuz for one...I am a Suburban redneck and proud of it. I want a clothesline to hang my granny panties on for the world to see, but I can't. I love fresh sheets right off the line....mom you spoiled me growing up.)

Anyway.....that won't work, so off to the Internet I go. I found a couple websites that were like...use some febreeze...whatever...why do people think febreeze will work? It doesn't clean my towels, it just masks the musty STENCH!! Febreeze is great when company is on the way and you need to make it SMELL like you really are Susie Homemaker!

Then I found one who said 3 Tablespoons of Baking Soda, 1/2 cup of white vinegar, your favorite laundry detergent (Tide original of course), and wash in HOT water. Even mentioned stopping the washer to let it soak for awhile.

WOW dudes....my towels NO LONGER STINK!!! What the heck did we ever do without Internet?? lol.

That is the key Susie Homemaker Wanna Bes! It didn't form a big volcano in my washer either when I mixed the baking soda and vinegar either hahahhhahahahahahahha.....

Okay, now I am off to clean something while the girls nap.
